To find the area of the kite we must find the area of 4 triangles, where in fact only have 2 different triangles. Then we must find the area of these 2 triangles and multiply each area by 2. One triangle has a base of 16.3 and a height of 42.7 and the other has b = 16.3 as well and h = 22.5, the total area will be

A_T=2A_(\triangle1)+2A_(\triangle2)

We know that the area of the triangle is

A_(\triangle)=(bh)/(2)

Therefore

A_T=(2\cdot42.7\cdot16.3)/(2)+(2\cdot22.5\cdot16.3)/(2)

We can simplify 2 on the numerator and denominator

A_T=42.7\cdot16.3+22.5\cdot16.3

Now we just use a calculator and find the result

A_T=1062.76\text{ cm}^2

Rounding to the nearest square centimeter

A_T=1063\text{ cm}^2

Therefore the correct result is the letter B.
