Sectors AEB and DEC are the same area.

Let's find the area of sector DEC and we will twice that to find area of shaded region.

The area of sector is given by the formula:

(\theta)/(360)*\pi r^2

Where

θ is the angle of the sector

r is the radius of the circle

Given

BD = 18

So, ED = 18/2 = 9 (this is the radius)

For Sector DEC,

r = 9

θ = 136°

The area of the sector is >>>

\begin{gathered} A=(136)/(360)\cdot\pi(9)^2 \\ A=96.13 \end{gathered}

The area of the shaded region is twice the area of the Sector DEC. Thus,

Area of Shaded Region = 96.13 x 2 = 192.26
