Store B sells the same computer as in the Example for $1,300. Store B offers a 20% discount on the computer. The tax rate is the same. Which store has the lower total price? How much lower? Show your work.

Let:

CA = Cost of the store A = $1300

CB = Cost of the store B

Store B offers a 20% discount on the computer, therefore:


\begin{gathered} CB=CA-0.2CA \\ CB=1300-0.2\cdot1300 \\ CB=1300-260 \\ CB=1040 \end{gathered}

Therefore the store B has the lower total price. It is $260 lower
