For the angle 30 degree, perpendicular side is y base side is x and hypotenuse side is 24.

Determine the measure of side x and y by using trigonometry in triangle.

For side x:

\begin{gathered} \cos 30=(x)/(24) \\ \frac{\sqrt[]{3}}{2}=(x)/(24) \\ x=24\cdot\frac{\sqrt[]{3}}{2} \\ =12\sqrt[]{3} \end{gathered}

For side y:

\begin{gathered} \sin 30=(y)/(24) \\ (1)/(2)=(y)/(24) \\ y=24\cdot(1)/(2) \\ =12 \end{gathered}

So answer are:

x=12\sqrt[]{3}

and; y = 12.
