The equation to be found is parallel to

y=2x+5

2 lines that are parallel have the same slope. Therefore,

\begin{gathered} m_1=m_2 \\ m_2=2 \end{gathered}

The equation to be found is containing the point (3, 3)

\begin{gathered} y=mx+b \\ \text{where} \\ m=\text{slope} \\ b=y-\text{intercept} \\ 3=2(3)+b \\ 3-6=b \\ b=-3 \end{gathered}
y=2x-3
