Given polynomial is

3x^5-4x^4-5x^3-8x+25

We have to check whether the polynomial x-2 is a factor.

If x-2 is a factor then x = 2 is a root of the given polynomial.

Substitute x = 2 in the given polynomial,

\begin{gathered} 3.2^5-4.2^4-5.2^3-8.2+25=96^{}-64-40-16+25 \\ =121-120=1 \end{gathered}

Hence 2 is not a root of given polynomial.

And so x - 2 is not a factor.
