Solution:

Let the two numbers be

20\text{ and 10}

In scientific notation, the numbers are

\begin{gathered} 20=2*10^1 \\ 10=1*10^1 \end{gathered}

The sum of the numbers will be

=(2*10^1)+(1*10^1)=10^1(2+1)=10^1(3)=3*10^1

Hence, the sum is

3*10^1

The difference between the two numbers will be

=(2*10^1)-(1*10^1)=10^1(2-1)=10^1(1)=1*10^1

Hence, the difference is

1*10^1

The product of the numbers will be

=(2*10^1)\cdot(1*10^1)=(2*1)(10^(1+1))=2(10^2)=2*10^2

Hence, the product is

2*10^2

The quotient of the numbers will be

=(2*10^1)/(1*10^1)=(2)/(1)*(10^(1-1))=2(10^0)=2*10^0

Hence, the quotient is

2*10^0
