x² - 10x = -30

x² - 10x + 25 = -30 +25 1/2 of the x term and square that number and add to

both side.

x² -10x + 25 = -5

(x - 5)(x - 5) = -5

√(-5)

If you are in Algebra II , then the answer is not a real answer it will be

(x - 5)² = ±5i
