PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!! this is due in 10 minutes,

A car is traveling down a straight road. the driver presses on the accelerator but the car does not change speed. how is this possible? explain what force is greater than the accelerator

Air resistance would the answer because for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, so when you press the accelerator the air is pushing back just as much.
