Given

Dirt cut 4 ft deep from a section of land 38 ft by 66 ft is used to fill a section 22 ft by 25 to a depth of 6ft

Answer

The volume of dirt removed from a section of land = 4 x 38 x 66 = 10032 cubic ft

Volume of another section in which dirt is filled = 22 x 25 x 6 = 3300 cubic ft

Dirt left = 10032 - 3300 = 6732 cubic ft

Now 1 cubic ft = 0.037 cubic yards

6732 cubic ft = 6732 x 0.037 = 249.08 cubic yards
