multiply both sides by 2:


2(KE) = 2((1)/(2) mv^(2))\\2KE = mv^(2)

divide both sides by m:


2KE = mv^(2)\\(2KE)/(m) = (mv^(2))/(m) \\


v^(2) = (2KE)/(m)

take the sqrt of both sides:


\sqrt{v^(2)} = \sqrt{(2KE)/(m)}\\

so:
