Explanation:

Use the points to calculate the slope. You would use the equation
(y_(2) -y_(1) )/(x_(2) -x_(1) ) to get a slope of
(12)/(4). That can be simplified to a slope of 3. Now find the y intercept. Now use the point (-1,8) to figure out what it would be when x=0. Everytime you add 1 to x it goes up by 3 so the point would be (0,11) and the y intercept would be 11.
