2) Find the slope.

Next, you can find a point by substituting a number for x. So in this example, I will be subbing x for 1.

y = -3(1) - 1

y= -3 - 1

y= -4

So there will be a point at (1,-4).

3) Graphing.

After you find that you can easily draw a straight line through both points.
