A contractor hired 150 workers to pave 30 miles of highway how many workers will they need to hire to pave 20 miles of highway in the same amount of time?

Answer: 100

Explanation:

First, we need to know how many workers must be hired to pave one mile.
Which is 5 workers per 1 mile ( 150 / 30 )

Then you can either do
(5 + 5 +5 +5 + 5) + (5 + 5 +5 +5 + 5) + (5 + 5 +5 +5 + 5) + (5 + 5 +5 +5 + 5)
OR
5 x 20 = 100
