Can someone help me with this?

Write a sentence containing an appositive or appositive phrase; CAPITALIZE the appositive/appositive phrase and remember to use commas. Then write the noun or pronoun renamed by the appositive.

My friend, THE POLICEMAN, just caught a thief.

Noun renamed: friend.

Step-by-step explanation:

An appositive expression is a noun or noun phrase that follows and explains another noun or pronoun.

When we have an appositive expression "not essential" we mean that said expression is not completely necessary. The sentence can be understood without it.

In such cases we use commas before and after the appositive expression.

My cousin Rebecca is a doctor, a doctor who saved your mom's life.

Step-by-step explanation:

Rebecca is the pronoun the doctor is the appositive. Because I told her name then told what she was. I basically gave two different description o the same person.

An appositive is: A noun or phrase that renames or describes the noun to which it is next.
