Explanation:

so, clearly, to get from J to L we have to go through K. and we get

JK + KL = JL

and that gives us

5x - 8 + 7x - 12 = 10x - 2

12x - 20 = 10x - 2

2x - 20 = -2

2x = 18

x = 9

so,

KL = 7×9 - 12 = 63 - 12 = 51
