x = 5 , y = 15

Explanation:

Since the figures are congruent then corresponding sides and angles are congruent , that is

WG = DG ( substitute values )

3x - 5 = 10 ( add 5 to both sides )

3x = 15 ( divide both sides by 3 )

x = 5

and

∠ WGF = ∠ DGF , that is

15x + y = 90 ( substitute x = 5 )

15(5) + y = 90

75 + y = 90 ( subtract 75 from both sides )

y = 15
