Chuck and Mike need to divide a couch and a pool table. Using the Method of Sealed Bids, they place the following bids on the items.

Chuck bids $489 on the couch, and $89 on the pool table.
Mike bids $138 on the couch, and $121 on the pool table.
Chuck will get the couch. Mike will take the pool table and will also get a little bit of money from Chuck. To make the division fair, how much money will Chuck have to give to Mike?

Answer: 319

Explanation:

Chuck bid $489 on the couch and $89 on the pool table
Mike bid $138 on the couch, and $121 on the pool table.

Chuck gets the couch and Mike gets the pool table and money from Chuck.
If you add $489+89 which equals 578 that is how much chuck bid in total and $138+121 which is 259. Equation will be 578-259 which leads to 319
