Given :-

  • The price of a telephone reduced form Rs 3500 to Rs 3200.

To Find :-

  • Percentage decrease from it's original price .

Solution :-

Here the initial cost is Rs 3500 and the new cost is Rs 3200. So the decrease in its price is ,

→ Decrease = Rs 3500 - Rs 3200

→ Decrease = Rs 300

Now we may find the % change in its price by ,

→ Decrease in cost/Initial cost * 100 %

→ Rs 300 /Rs 3500 * 100 %

8.57%

Hence the price is decreased by 8.57% .
