For the triangle to be equilateral then all 3 sides must be congruent.

Equate any 2 sides and solve for x

3x + 1.2 = 2x + 6.2 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

x + 1.2 = 6.2 ( subtract 1.2 from both sides )

x = 5

then the measures of the 3 sides are

2x + 5.2 = 2(5) + 5.2 = 10 + 5.2 = 15.2

3x + 1.2 = 3(5) + 1.2 = 15 + 1.2 = 16.2

2x + 6.2 = 2(5) + 6.2 = 10 + 6.2 = 16.2

the 3 sides are not congruent thus triangle is not equilateral.

However, the 2 sides 3x + 1.2 and 2x + 6.2 are both 16.2

Then the triangle is isosceles
