Find the area of the parallelogram below by using the area formulas for rectangles and triangles.

Answer: b

Explanation:

You know the formula of a triangle is: (base*height)/2

So: 4*8=32

32/2=16cm^2

Since its a parallelogram, you could say that there are two of these triangles, so: 16*2=32cm^2

Now we're left with the part in the middle. The sides are now 8 by 8 because we took away 4 from 12, so: 8*8= 64cm^2

Now you just add all your values together, so: 32+64=96cm^2
