Answer:

x = SA - 72 /24

Explanation:

SA=2(wl+hl+hw)

where,

  • SA - surface area
  • l - length
  • w - width
  • h - height

➟ SA = 2(wl+hl+hw)

Insert values

➟ SA = 2((6)(x)+(6)(x)+(6)(6))

Calculate

➟ SA = 2(6x + 6x + 36)

Add together

➟ SA = 2(12x + 36)

Multiply values in the bracket by 2

➟ SA = 24x + 72

Substract 72 from both sides

➟ SA - 72 = 24x

Switch sides

➟ 24x = SA - 72

Divide both sides by the coefficient of x

➟ 24x/24 = SA - 72/24

Calculate

➟ x = SA - 72 /24
