My head throbbing a bit, I walk the rest of the way back to my apartment after a long day of work. I'm worried my friends may have forgotten about it again. I reminded them almost every day this week, but they are a forgetful bunch so I doubt they remembered. I stop by a hotdog cart that was about to close up to grab a last minute meal before I made it home. Hotdog in hand, I step into the elevator, and a few seconds later there's a distinct chime as the door slides open on my floor. I punch in the numbers, and crack the door open, smelling something rather pleasant emitting from your apartment.
Oh?
I swing the door open the rest of the way, and flick the light switch on. The hotdog falls to the floor, and the door stands ajar. My mouth makes a perfect "O", of pure surprise. The happiness engulfed me like a blanket, and I immediately started to feel tears of joy forming at the corners of my eyes. Infront of me stood my three best friends, and Sapphire, my long lost dog. She was groomed to perfection, having a bow around her neck, pulling at a leash in excitement. My friends all smiled at me, before saying the long awaited words.
"Happy birthday, man."
They release Sapphire's leash, and not even a second later she's in my arms, giving the best hug a dog could give. My friend walks over to me to guide me to my kitchen counter. Upon it is a chocolate cake, iced daintily with the words "Happy Birthday, We Do Care." They must've felt bad for forgetting the past couple years. Sapphire still in one arm, you pull all three of your friends in to a group hug.
"Thank you so much!"
This was my take on the face. Hope this is what you meant by it!
