Write an equation in point-slope form for the line that has a slope of 9/4 and contains the point (3, −4).

Answer:

We can’t write it in point slope form because we need 2 points for that. But we can write it in slope intercept form which id y-mx+b. so the equation would be -4=9/4(3)+b

y+4 = 9/4(x-3)

Explanation:

m=slope and b=y-intercept (probably useful for later on in the school years)

y-y1 = m(x-x1) where m is the slope and (x1,y1) is the point

Substituting in what we know

y--4 = 9/4(x-3)

y+4 = 9/4(x-3)
