You seem to be on the right track.

Question: p²m ÷ 4

m=4, and p=7

Replacing with the given values:

7²(4) ÷ 4

→49×4/4

→196/4

.: 49 is the final answer.

Remember that PEMDAS tells you to deal with your exponents before multiplying or dividing.

Since p = 7 and m = 4,we have (7)²(4) ÷ 4 or 49(4) ÷ 4.

Now when we multiply and then divide by the same value, we essentially cancel it to just 1 so we have 49(1) which is just 49.
