If y=2x+2 what is the value of x when: y is 9

Answer:

x = 3.5

Explanation:

y = 2x + 2

9 = 2x + 2

7 = 2x

divide both sides by 2

3.5 = x

step:

make x the subject which is 2x=y-2.then,simplify the 2x into 1x since the question want the value of 1 x which is x=y-2/2.next,change the y into 9(x=9-2/2) and the answer is 7/2 or you can simplify it which makes the ans 3.5
