Answer:

x= -5

Explanation:

expand the brackets

-4x -20=5x+25

-4x-5x=25+20

-9x=45

x= -5

or

let y=(x+5)

-4y=5y

-4y-5y=0

-9y=0

resubstitute

-9(x+5)=0

-9x-45=0

-9x=45

x = -5

given ,

-4(x+5) = 5(x+5)

Expanding ,

-4x -20 = 5x + 25

Now , transposing like terms with change of sign ,

-4x -5x = 25 + 20

=> -9x = 45

=> x = -45/9

=> x = -5
