A recipe calls for 4 cups of sugar for each 10 cups of flour. How many cups of sugar are needed for 30 cups of flour?

12 cups of sugar

Explanation:

The ratio of sugar to flour is 4:10 and so if you multiply the amount of flour by 3 you have to do the same to the sugar and so 4 times 3 will be 12 and so the answer is 12
