Explanation:

make x the subject of the formula by transposing it to the other end of the equal side.Make sure you change the sign

x/3=20-6

x/3=14

Now multiply both equations by 3 so we are only left with three

x/3(3)=14(3)

x=42

Answer= 42

Explanation:

Greetings !

Given expression

6 = 20 - (x)/(3)

Switch sides

20 - (x)/(3) = 6

subtract 20 from both sides

20 - (x)/(3) - 20 = 6 - 20

\frac { - x}{3} = - 14

multiply both sides by 3

3( ( - x)/(3) ) = 3( - 14)

simplify

- x = - 42

divide both sides by -1.

( - x)/( - 1) = ( - 42)/( - 1) \\ x = 42

Hope it helps!
