No because a phone gives a student access to everything, parents, games, calculator, and the web. If you ban phones in school you are taking away the students safety, especially with all the shootings in California recently it is better for parents and kids to have access to contact their parents whenever they want. Also, some students use music to focus and that music comes from their phone. So,d students also read on their phone because hard copy books are expensive and kindle books are cheaper. So no they shouldn’t be banned.
