The answer is same.

Finding the percentage of change for Troop A :

New - Original / Original × 100%

  • 16 - 14 / 14 × 100%
  • 1/7 × 100%
  • 14.29%

Finding the percentage of change for Troop B :

  • 24 - 21 / 21 × 100%
  • 1/7 × 100%
  • 14.29%

Both the troops have the same percent change in membership.

Answer: Same

Explanation:

Given formula

Percent~of~change~=~\Large(New~-~Original)/(Original)*100\%

Given information

Troop A:

  • Original (2010) = 14
  • New (2011) = 16

Troop B:

  • Original (2010) = 21
  • New (2011) = 24

Substitute values into the formula (Troop A)

Percent~of~change~=~\Large(New~-~Original)/(Original)*100\%

Percent~of~change~=~\Large((16)~-~(14))/((14))*100\%

Simplify the fraction

Percent~of~change~=~\Large(2)/(14)*100\%

Percent~of~change~=~\Large(1)/(7)*100\%

Percent~of~change~\approx~14.29\%

Substitute values into the formula (Troop B)

Percent~of~change~=~\Large(New~-~Original)/(Original)*100\%

Percent~of~change~=~\Large((24)~-~(21))/((21))*100\%

Simplify the fraction

Percent~of~change~=~\Large(3)/(21)*100\%

Percent~of~change~=~\Large(1)/(7)*100\%

Percent~of~change~\approx~14.29\%

Compare the two percent of change

Troop~A~v.s.~Troop~B

14.29\%~=~14.29\%

Therefore, they are
\Large\boxed{Same}

Hope this helps!! :)
