How do you decide which value to weigh more heavily when looking at trade offs between different values? For example, if one person's freedom restricts another persons equality of opportunity, how do you decide which is more important?

Answer:

When selecting which value is significant, one of the most important things to check for is whether it is necessary or luxurious.

Certain people are fighting to survive and they couldn't even survive in the world without meeting certain wants.

There are some whose fundamental necessities are met, but they look for some recreational activities to unwind.

One group struggles to survive and another group is more completed and seeks to rest.

This should be the first group to meet its needs. It must strive to repair this gap, as a welfare government, before making everything equally important to all.

Those with the accumulated advantage of so-called privilege should be patient enough to ensure greater equality for those with accumulated disadvantages.
