Explanation:
(you need to get x by its self)

Step 1- add the (-5) over to the 16

Because to get rid of a negative or minus sign you need to do the opposite which is addition.

You’ll get: 3x=21

Step 2- divide the 3 off from 21
Because the ‘3x’ is acting as multiplication, and the opposite of multiplication is division

You’ll get: X=21/3
Which is X=7
