If it's parallel to the equation it means that it needs to have the same slope so the formation will be:

y=mx+b

substitute m for 3 (cause slope is same and m=slope)

y=3x+b

so now you have to substitute the coordinate point it passes through:

2=(3)(6)+b

...solve for b...

2=18 +b

b= -16

so your equation is y=3x-16
