This problem might seem frightening, but if you treat this as a regular equation, it might come easy for you!

Treat this as a regular equation where it equals each other. You would add like terms and isolate x right?

Since we do not handle with dividing negative numbers in an inequality (this basically makes the inequality symbol flip to the other side but that's a different topic), just ignore the inequality for a little bit, and solve the problem.

-2+2x>-16

+2 +2 Add like terms

2x>-14 Divide by two on both sides to isolate the variable.

x>-7

This means that the question satisfies any number that is greater than a -7. That was all there is to it!
