The school designed their vegetable garden to have a perimeter of 32 feet with the length

measuring two feet more than twice the width.

The equation is

  • 2(2+w+W)=32
  • 2+2W=16

And

  • 2w=14
  • w=7

And

L=7+2=9ft

Answer:

  • 7 feet and 9 feet

Explanation:

Perimeter equation:

  • P = 2(l + w)

We have:

  • 2(l + w) = 32
  • l = w + 2

Simplify the first equation and solve by substitution:

  • l + w = 16
  • w + 2 + w = 16
  • 2w = 14
  • w = 7

Find the value of l:

  • l = 7 + 2 = 9
