#Function 1

  • (-1,3)
  • (-2,5)

Slope=

  • m=5-3/-2+1
  • m=2/-1
  • m=-2

#Function 2

  • (-1,0)
  • (0,4)

Slope

  • m=4/1
  • m=4

Answer:

see below

Explanation:

Function 1

Find the slope

m = ( y2-y1)/ (x2-x1)

= (-5 -3) /(3 - -1)

= ( -5-3)/(3+1)

= -8/4

= -2

Function 2

Using the points (0,4) and (-1,0)

m = ( y2-y1)/ (x2-x1)

m = ( 0-4)/(-1-0)

= -4/-1

= 4

The function with the greater rate of change is function 2
