1. 2x - 9y = 23

2 x = 9 y + 23

y = (2 x)/9 - 23/9

2 x - 9 y - 23 = 0

2. 5x - 3y = -1

5 x + 1 = 3 y

y = (5 x)/3 + 1/3

5 x - 3 y + 1 = 0
