The rectangular floor of a classroom is 36 feet in length and 24 feet in width. A scale

drawing of the floor has a length of 12 inches. What is the area, in square inches, of
the floor in the scale drawing?

Answer:

96 ft^2

Explanation:

If the scale drawings length is 12 and the floors length is 36 we do 36/12 and find out that the scale drawing is 3 times smaller than the actual floor.

So to find the width so we can find the area we divide 24 by 3

24/3=8

then to find area we multiply the length and width

8x12=96
