Answer:

Cold war was an almost half a century long war between many countries, but mainly the U.S.A versus the soviet union. Technology and engineering was evolving nonstop to outbeat eachother for the advantage, and nuclear war was very close to hapenning. The struggle that was the basis for this conflict is, in the eyes of an american, should we go to war or should we not. Should we nuke them or not. It was a struggle and we didn't know what the soviets were going to do either. People were scared, and even though not many died, thus cold, it was so close and tensions were so high it was a war.
