A Quick Guide to Classifying Polynomials

\bigstar Look at the number of terms and the exponent.

1 term, exponent of 1 -1st degree monomial

Example: 4r

2 terms, exponent of 2 - 2nd degree binomial

Example: 4r²+9

3 terms, exponent of 3 - 3rd degree trinomial

Example: 4r³+9r²+1

4 terms, exponent of 4 - 4th degree polynomial

Example: 4r⁴+9r³+r²+8

8x is a 1st degree monomial.

Hope it helps.
