The equation of the best fit line by using the graphing calculator.

Solution:

The general form of a best fit line is:


y=mx+b ...(i)

Where, m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

Using the graphing calculator, we get


m\approx 1.423


b\approx 11.698

Substituting
m\approx 1.423, b\approx 11.698 in (i), we get


y=1.423x+11.698

Therefore, the equation of the best fit line is
y=1.423x+11.698 and its graph is shown below.
