6x + 9y = 12 → (3)

Add (3) and (4) term by term to eliminate x

0 + 23y = 0

23y = 0

y = 0

Substitute y = 0 into either of the 2 equations and solve for x

Substituting into (1)

2x + 3(0) = 4

2x = 4 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 2

solution is (2, 0 )
