ACTIVITY 2

Here are some equations that all have the same solution. Explain how you know
that each equation has the same solution as the previous equation.
x = -6
X-3= -9
-9 = x-3
900 = -100(x - 3)
900 = (x-3) (-100)
900 = -100x + 300

Answer:

Explanation:

x = -6

subtract 3 from both sides: x-3 = -9

reflexive identity: x-3 = -9, so -9 = x-3

multiply both sides by -100: 900 = -100(x-3)

commutative law for multiplication: -100(x-3) = (x-3)(-100)

distributive rule: (x-3)(-100) = -100x + 300
