Answer:

Explanation:

Givens

Let the first number be x / 2

Let the second number = x

Let the third number = 3/4 x + 5

Equation

x/2 + x + 3/4 x + 5 = 41 Multiply through by 4

Solution

2x + 4x + 3x + 20 = 164 Combine like terms on the left

9x + 20 = 164 Subtract 20 from both sides.

9x + 20 - 20 = 164 - 20

9x = 144 Divide by 9

9x/9 = 144/9

x = 16

Answer

The first number is 16/2 = 8

The second number is = 16

The Third number = 3/4*16+ 5 = 12 + 5 = 17

The sum = 41
