so 6y + 7 = 10y + 2 then solve

-6y -6y

7 = 4y + 2

- 2 - 2

5 = 4y

/4 /4

y = 1.25 (1 1/4)

Now you have to substitute y in.

x = 6y + 7

x = 6(1.25) +7

x = 7.5 + 7

x = 14.5
