Can somebody explain how to multiply positive numbers against negative numbers (with an example)?

If a positive number multiplies a negative number, the answer is a negative number. (except 0)

Example:

-5 x 12

'Ignore' the minus sign first, calculate the numbers part, 5 x 12 = 60, and add the minus sign to the answer

-5 x 12 = -60

Answer:

-7×-2= 14

7×2=14

-7×2=-14

7×-2=-14

u do the normal multiplication and just add the negative sign
