Answer: (8,8)

Explanation:

First you need to get a x or y by itself.

I choosed to get y by itself since it would be faster.

-2x + y = -8 (first get -2x to the other side so add 2x)

y = -8 + 2x (then you want to insert that to the other equation)

-x + 4( -8 +2x) = 24 -> -x -32 + 8x = 24 -> 7x -32 = 24

(add 32 to the other side)

7x = 56 (divide 7 to 56 to get x) x = 8

now insert into the other equation

-2( 8 ) + y = -8 -> -16 + y = -8 ( move -16 to the other side, so add 16)

then you get your answer, y= 8
