GUI stands for Graphical User Interface.

Often pronounced as 'Gooey'.
It is also known as WIMP (Windows, Icons, Menus, Pointer) as the most common combination of elements using which are user interacts in a GUI environment.
A type of interface which is most popular and widely used by people.
This user interface provided by operating systems for user and interaction with a computer system.
It made use of graphics, images and icons.
It is easy to use than that of Character User Interface (CUI), it made the interaction very easy as the user could interact with just a click of the mouse rather than typing every time to give commands to the computer.
The most commonly used examples of GUI is Windows, Symbian, Linux, Mac OS, etc.
