  • It is also known as WIMP (Windows, Icons, Menus, Pointer) as the most common combination of elements using which are user interacts in a GUI environment.
  • A type of interface which is most popular and widely used by people.
  • This user interface provided by operating systems for user and interaction with a computer system.
  • It made use of graphics, images and icons.
  • It is easy to use than that of Character User Interface (CUI), it made the interaction very easy as the user could interact with just a click of the mouse rather than typing every time to give commands to the computer.
  • The most commonly used examples of GUI is Windows, Symbian, Linux, Mac OS, etc.
