or if you learned "i"
x ≈ 3.256i
x ≈ -0.256i

Explanation:

You could either solve for c or use the quadratic formula. I like solving for c:

3x²+3x+7=0

3x²+3x=-7

x²+3x=-7/3

(x+1.5)²=-9.25/3

x+1.5=√-9.25/3

x=1.5±√-9.25/3
